  »Back again
October 25th, 2009

I spent more time today playing around with this page, adding the background to the header, making the font size a bit bigger, and installing a comment reply plugin. Unfortunately, I’m failing at making the comments nested. Sigh. Also, I really ought to get some schoolwork done today. Sigh again.

Here, have a picture from my highly amateur Flickr account.

Paris, December 17th-20th. So excited.

(Starting with this entry, I’m aiming to make this blog more picture-oriented, because pictures > text.)

»Redesigned
October 24th, 2009

Well, I finally redesigned the blog so it now goes with the scheme of the rest of the site.

Okay, to be honest, I basically stole it from this LiveJournal layout, but it still took forever to do all the tweaking and implementation of WordPress and everything, especially because I’m used to only using CSS for basic styling like links and fonts, whereas this was a bit more complicated. It was fun to do, though, because now I know how the real world uses CSS rather than being stuck in 2001 with my HTML skills (or lack thereof).

I suspect I’ll run into some errors, but this section of the site isn’t used much anyway, and I’m not sure if many people read it, so I don’t know if it really matters. Of course, saying that makes me feel a bit silly for having spent half my day redesigning this, but, hey, maybe I’ll make this into something better in the future. I keep telling myself that.

Oh lawd, this blog desperately needs a redesign. Sorry about that. If you’re here reading this, you can probably tell from infrequently I post that I don’t really focus on updating this thing, so mosey on along to another section of the site, s’il vous plaît.

In general, I just really need to add something to this site to make it more interesting. At the moment, the only real content I have is my Spain blog, so check that out, I guess?

»Victory!
July 23rd, 2009

I’ve started a site redesign, and I am actually happy with what I have so far! It’s a miracle!

Everything is really simple, but, considering I really don’t have much content, a simple look is better, I think. It’s really only the splash page and the about and links pages that are done, and portfolio just says under construction and this blog is still in the old layout (not sure what I’ll do, exactly, to fit it with the new theme, but we’ll figure something out), but we’re getting there.

Oh man, I always stay up so late when I’m working on website-y stuff. I get so sucked into it that I completely lose track of time. It’s a lovely feeling, but suddenly it’s 5:30am and you have to get up in a few hours. But at least you have some site updates to be proud of.

I’m pretty sure no one reads this, but, if you do, thoughts on the redesign? Does it work in your browser? I’ve only tested it in Firefox in Windows XP with a 1280×800 resolution, and browser compatibility is not one of my strong suits.

Okay, must force myself to go to bed now. I’m sure I’ll be back working on this tomorrow.
